Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complex but favored poker games. It is a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, invites action from all levels of players. This is the main reason why a once irrelevant game, has expanded in popularity so rapidly.

Omaha/8 starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. Four cards are dealt to every player. A round of betting ensues in which gamblers can wager, check, or drop out. 3 cards are dealt out, this is referred to as the flop. Another round of wagering happens. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or dropped out, another card is flipped on the turn. a further round of betting ensues and then the river card is flipped. The entrants must attempt to make the strongest high and low five card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is where a number of players can get flustered. Contrasted to Holdem, in which the board can be everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi lo the player has to use exactly three cards from the board, and precisely 2 hole cards. Not a single card more, not a single card less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot may be won: the "higher hand" or the "lower hand."

A high hand is just what it sounds like. It is the strongest hand out of everyone’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It is the identical notion in just about every poker game.

A low hand is more complex, but really free’s up the action. When deciding on a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that might be made, with the lowest being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Considering that straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the worst possible hand. The low hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and lower. The lower hand takes half of the pot, as just like the higher hand. When there is no lower hand available, the high hand takes the entire pot.

It may seem complex at first, following a couple of hands you will be agile enough to pick up on the base subtleties of play easily enough. Seeing as you have players betting for the low and betting for the high, and since so many cards are in play, Omaha 8 or better offers an exciting collection of betting choices and because you have several players battling for the high, along with a few trying for the low. If you enjoy a game with all kinds of outs and actions, it is not a waste of your time to play Omaha/8.
